Eligibility Criteria

• Graduation in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks.
• Final year degree students awaiting results.

For the purpose of determining eligibility based on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure used by the respective university in award of the degree will only be taken into consideration. All applicants should have completed a minimum of 15 years of formal schooling by July 01, 2008. Applicants who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission into the program.

Students in their final year bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations/viva assignments before July 01, 2008. Such applicants will have to produce a certificate to that effect at the time of admission. For any extension of this deadline, the applicants should apply separately, giving the schedule of their graduation examination. Extension may be granted on the basis of the circumstances of the case. The admission of applicants will, however, remain provisional until they produce marksheets and a degree certificate establishing their eligibility. The last date for submitting the proof of graduation transcripts is November 01, 2008, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

Admission Criteria

The selection of applicants is made through Admission Test and Personal Interview .

Admission Test

Students seeking admission are required to submit the completed application form at the Alphia Campus where they wish to join or at Alphia HQ is D2/2, Block – EP & GP Block (1st Floor), Sector-V, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700091. They are required to appear for an Admission Test followed by an Interview at the chosen campus. The Admission Test is based on GMAT® pattern with multiple choice questions and tests the applicant’s abilities in quantitative techniques, data adequacy, vocabulary and analytical reasoning. Exemption from Admission Test: Those applicants who have valid GMAT®/CAT 2007/XAT 2008/MAT (Latest) scores and those who appeared for IBSAT® 2007 (and were shortlisted for IBS interviews) are exempted from Admission Test. They can appear for interview directly.

Interview

The applicants will have to go through a personal interview. This is to determine the student’s attitudes and motivation to pursue the program. The interviews will be conducted after the admission test.

Original certificates should be produced for verification at the time of interview. The original certificates will be returned after verification.

The admission decision will be communicated after the interview process. All the selected candidates will be required to pay the admission fee immediately after the admission decision is announced.

Past Academic Record

While evaluating applicants for admission into the MBA Program, due consideration is given to the applicant’s past academic achievements. Apart from the marks/CGPA secured, various academic achievements and honors obtained by the applicant like professional and postgraduate qualifications will also be considered.

Fee Schedule

Admission Fee: Admission Fee of Rs.5,000 is to be paid by all the selected candidates immediately after the admission decision is announced. This should be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favor of “AIBM” payable at Kolkata. Admission Fee is non-refundable.

Registration Fee: Registration Fee of Rs. 15,000 is to be paid by all the selected candidates on or before July 01, 2008 through Demand Draft in favor of “ICFAI University, Tripura” Payable at Hyderabad.

Program Fee: The Program Fee of Rs 1, 20,000 includes Tuition fee, Student Activity Fund, Alumni Membership Fee. The Tuition fee includes the cost of courseware, summer internship coordination fee, final placement coordination fee, library fee and fee payable to the University towards enrollment and examinations.

Annual Payment: Students can pay the program fee in 2 equal installments at the time of registration for the first and third semesters (on or before July 01, 2008 and July 20, 2009) respectively. All payments are to be made by way of Demand Draft drawn in favor of “AIBM”, payable at Kolkata.

Fees & Payment Option

Pre-MBA Program

To facilitate better understanding and learning during the MBA Program, Alphia has designed a Pre-MBA Program consisting of 4 courses. Each course will be covered in about 40 hours. The courses are:

• Introduction to Business Mathematics and Statistics
• Introduction to Financial Accounting
• English Language Bridge Course
• PC Lab

All students who are granted provisional admission will need to successfully complete the Pre-MBA Program. The Admissions Committee may waive one or more courses of the Pre-MBA Program based on the academic background, performance in the interview. The classes start from July 01, 2008.
